THis piece begins as a Border pipe jig collected by Robert Riddell in 1790's and published in his "Scots, Border and Gallovidian Collection of music." Gordon took the tune and developed it into a performance piece that became the title track of his album "O'er the Border. Now Shona has gone back to the original and augmented it and blended in some of Gordon's ideas to produce a virtuoso piece for the fiddle.
