about

The Yarrow Valley in the Scottish Borderlands has been celebrated in song, verse and story from the earliest days of the Border Ballads. Situated in the rugged hills near the Border between England and Scotland, it has attracted singers, writers and artists through the centuries.
This latest 'Song for Yarrow' tells the story of the valley in verse and song:- new but written in the traditional manner.
It was originally written as a book in the form of a journey down the valley in variegated verse by Border historian and poet, Walter Elliot who narrates the story with his strong Scots Border accent. The journey gains stature when joined by the musicians, who each contribute their own original music inspired by the poetry and beauty of the valley.
