about

There are several types of birds that are collectively called Seagulls. The most common is the Herring Gull. The Herring Gull is one of the most successful bird species in Britain. It can eat almost anything and has prospered on the increasing amounts of edible refuse discarded by humans. The yelping sound 'Keeow" is a common sound on the coast, over farmland and at rubbish dumps. This lively bagpipe jig has the seagull flying out over stormy seas, for it is in gale force winds that this bird shows its true mastery of flight.
