The Pigeon on the Gate

from Birds by Gordon Mooney and Barbara Mooney

/

about

In spite of having so many enemies among farmers the pigeon numbers have increased rapidly in recent years. It is an extremely adaptable bird being found in both urban an rural areas. The song is the well known cooing phrase. The tune is of Irish origin. A pigeon on a gate is a sitting duck to a farmer!
