about

In Britain no soiund is awaited more eagerly than the loud ringing repeated song of the cuckoo. The double-noted 'cuckoo' is the male's courtship call. The female has a burbling trill. They are not the only birds who foster their young on other birds...there are as many as 70 other species that do the same. The cuckoo is now a Red List species due to a rapid fall in population.
